Protesters stay all night at the doors of the Assembly, tomorrow a protest from 08:00 at Skënderbeu Square
The “Jo në emrin tim” (Not in My Name) platform has announced that tonight, October 4, protesters will stay all night at the doors of the Kosovo Assembly. The distributed announcement says the stand is non-partisan, with a single demand: “Vote for the law!”, as KosovaPress reports.
According to the announcement, from 08:00 on Monday morning, October 5, every citizen is invited to join the protesters at Skënderbeu Square in Pristina. “The KLA is our history. Our identity. Our freedom. Tomorrow, at 08:00 in the morning, everyone to Skënderbeu Square. Not in my name,” the announcement says.
The action comes on the eve of the plenary session of the Kosovo Assembly, convened for Monday, October 5 at 09:00, whose first agenda item is the first review of the Draft Law on amending and supplementing the Law on the Specialist Chambers and the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office. Before the plenary session, at 08:00, the Legislation Committee will review the draft law.
The protesters’ main demand is the fastest possible adoption of the amendments to this law, following the Specialist Chambers’ verdict in The Hague against the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army.
