Haxhiu: we will stand together until the full release of the former KLA leaders

Kosovo Assembly Speaker Albulena Haxhiu has said that the Assembly today expressed a joint stance regarding the judgment of the Specialist Chambers against Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi.

Haxhiu declared that the KLA’s war was a war for freedom and independence and that, according to her, this truth cannot be undone by a judgment.

“Our people’s war for freedom and independence, through the Kosovo Liberation Army, was a just war. This truth cannot be undone by any judgment,” Haxhiu wrote, as Telegrafi reports.

She called on Kosovo’s institutions to act united through a joint legal and diplomatic strategy.

“The institutions of the Republic of Kosovo must act united, through a joint legal and diplomatic strategy, to defend the truth,” she said.

Haxhiu stressed that the judicial process continues through the appeal and that institutions will stand united during this process.

“The road to justice continues through the appeals process. We will stand together in this battle, until the full release of the former KLA leaders,” Haxhiu wrote.
