Hit 14-year-old and fled, 18-year-old identified and arrested in Cërrik

An 18-year-old has been arrested by Police in Belsh, suspected of hitting a 14-year-old girl with a motorcycle he was driving without a driving license and then fleeing the scene.

According to the Police, the incident occurred around 1:10 p.m. in the village of Shalës. The young man, a citizen with the initials A. N., is suspected of losing control of the motorcycle and hitting the 14-year-old, then leaving the scene of the accident.

After the incident was reported, Police services immediately began actions to identify and locate the motorcycle driver. Within a short time, the 18-year-old was identified, located and arrested.

The 14-year-old was transported to the hospital, where she is under the care of doctors.

The 18-year-old faces charges of “Violation of road traffic rules” and “Leaving the scene of the accident.” The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor’s Office for further action.
