Hoxha receives new WHO representative: Partnership to strengthen health care

Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha received today in Tirana the new representative of the World Health Organization in Albania, Dr. Fabio Scano.

The meeting focused on the partnership between Albania and WHO, with an emphasis on advancing national health policies and further strengthening the country’s health-care system.

According to Minister Hoxha, cooperation with the World Health Organization remains closely tied to the priorities of the national development agenda and efforts to improve health services.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of cooperation with WHO in support of reforms related to Albania’s EU membership negotiation process.

“We look forward to further deepening our partnership, including through expanded regional cooperation, innovation and the digital transformation of health-care services, for the benefit of our citizens and communities,” Minister Hoxha said.

The meeting comes as part of the ongoing cooperation between Albania and WHO for the further development of health policies and the improvement of the health-care system in the country.
