“I don’t accept Vučić’s mercy”: STAV activist Doroteja Antić calls him “leader of a criminal gang”
Doroteja Antić, an activist of the informal STAV group from Novi Sad, has said she does not accept Aleksandar Vučić’s mercy, calling him “the leader of a criminal gang.” In a statement to the Nova.rs portal, Antić said: “I don’t accept Vučić’s mercy; the proceedings against us were staged.”
Antić is one of the 12 members of the so-called “Novi Sad group” — activists of STAV and of the Free Citizens’ Movement — who were among the 49 people Vučić pardoned or granted abolition to on September 27, during his resignation speech from the presidency of Serbia, as previously reported.
The criminal proceedings against them, on charges of attempting to overthrow the constitutional order, had begun on November 24, 2025. Six activists were arrested on March 14, 2025, while Antić — together with Mila Pajić, Branislav Gjorgjević, Anja Pitulić, Jovan Dražić and Dejan Bagarić — was tried in absentia, in exile. The next main hearing had been scheduled for October 30.
Just a day earlier, the STAV group had reacted collectively with the message “We don’t accept mercy, we demand accountability,” accusing that the pardon was a decision by those who had abused Serbia’s institutions and demanding that Vučić be held accountable. With today’s personal statement, Antić has further underlined that stance, individually refusing the pardon.
