Serbia: members of the Commission for the revision of the electoral register had their access to data removed — accusations of obstruction
Members of the Commission for the revision of the electoral register in Serbia have had their access to data removed, as the Serbian newspaper Danas writes. The news was announced today by Marko Đurić, deputy member of the Commission from the Party of Freedom and Justice (SSP), according to whom the decision came after the Commission published the figures on decisions for voting abroad, by country.
According to Danas’s reporting, Đurić said it is now clear that “the SNS regime and the team for obstructing the revision of the electoral register, headed by Ana Brnabić, will not reveal to the members of the Commission the irregularities in the electoral register, and the obstructions will continue”.
With this decision, the members of the Commission will no longer be able to see even who has access to the electoral register — a restriction which, according to Đurić, directly strips the Commission of the competences defined by the Law on the Unified Electoral Register.
“The manipulations with the electoral register and the obstructions are culminating in the days before the elections, and we will continue to inform the public about all the regime’s frauds,” Đurić announced, as Danas quotes him.
Earlier in the day, Commission member and lawyer Ognjen Rašuo told the Beta agency that, as of today, 80,000 decisions have been issued for the voting of Serbian citizens abroad — figures the Commission made public shortly before its access to the data was cut off.
