Inspection operation in Skopje: illegal stalls removed from Mavrovka to Bit Pazar, around 500 kg of food seized
This morning, inspection services of the Food and Veterinary Agency (AUV), in a coordinated operation with municipal inspectors of the City of Skopje, inspectors of the State Market Inspectorate and members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, carried out an extraordinary inspection targeting illegal sellers of agricultural products, as MIA reports.
The operation took place along the “Krste Petkov-Misirkov” boulevard, from the Mavrovka shopping center to Bit Pazar in Skopje. According to Makfax, all illegal stalls were removed — most with fruits and vegetables — while food amounting to around 500 kilograms was seized, mostly agricultural products. All illegally placed sales equipment on pedestrian and cyclist paths was also removed.
As MIA reports, in coordination with municipal inspectors of the City of Skopje, offenders will face the relevant misdemeanor measures. The police — namely the Skopje SPB, in coordination with the City of Skopje — also took measures to remove illegal resellers. Many police cars parked on the boulevard made it barely passable and blocked traffic on surrounding streets as well.
In a separate joint operation with the Gostivar SPB, official AUV veterinarians, according to Makfax, seized and harmlessly destroyed at the Rusino landfill 150 kilograms of expired meat, without declaration and of unknown origin, on a private property in the village of Čajle in Gostivar.
