Iran dismisses Trump’s ‘obliteration’ threat as a sign of ‘strategic desperation’, warns of ‘devastating’ strikes on the U.S. and Israel

Iran has dismissed threats by U.S. President Donald Trump to ‘annihilate’ the country if it attacks American interests, calling them a sign of ‘strategic desperation’, while warning that any aggression would be met with ‘devastating’ strikes on the United States and Israel.

‘The American president’s threats to annihilate Iran are the peak of his strategic desperation,’ Iran’s army chief of staff Abdulrahim Mousavi said in a statement carried by the official Tasnim news agency.

Mousavi warned that ‘any aggressive action by the enemy will be met with decisive and devastating strikes from our armed forces, and the criminal American regime and the child-killing Zionist regime will pay the highest price’.

He accused Trump of making ‘baseless claims that do not align with the reality of the failed U.S. attack’ on Iran’s nuclear facilities in June, vowing that the Islamic Republic’s forces were ready to counter any threat.
