Diomande, Real Madrid’s second-most expensive signing of all time (after Jude Bellingham), responded with a video apparently filmed on the team bus. In it, he loudly sings Sethlo’s song “Migbo”, dedicated to perseverance and the fight against hate. His words leave no doubt about whom they’re aimed at: “140 million, that’s what they asked for. They will always criticize us, but we’ll just keep climbing.”

In eight matches played so far for his new club, he has failed to score and has provided only one assist — a fact that, given the transfer sum, naturally fuels doubts and criticism.
