Iranian general: missile production supply chain is intact — “we can continue the war for as long as needed”
The supply chain for the production of weapons and missiles in Iran remains completely intact, a senior general of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared, stressing that the country produces all the components it needs itself and no longer needs foreign help, as Al Jazeera reports.
“We can continue the war for as long as necessary,” said Brigadier General Ali Balali, adviser to the commander of the IRGC’s Aerospace Force, in statements to state media. According to him, Iran has no concerns in any sector required for defence production, and all missile components are not only produced inside the country, but are even exportable.
Balali said Iran relies on domestic capabilities and on a clear understanding of operational requirements, which drives innovation in missile development. The country, he added, has reached a level of maturity in this field that no longer requires foreign assistance. “Since we are both the developers and the producers of these systems, and we understand the operational requirements, we constantly pursue innovation,” he said.
The statement comes at a moment when pressure on Iran is growing on both fronts: the U.S. is strengthening its military presence in the region with a third aircraft carrier on its way, while the Iranian economy is being weighed down by the port blockade and the record fall of the rial, which has passed 2.7 million to the dollar.
