IRGC adviser: Iran will launch as many missiles as needed to ‘teach the enemy a lesson’
Iran will launch as many missiles as are needed to “teach the enemy a lesson”, a senior adviser to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard declared on Wednesday, as Al Jazeera reports, citing Iran’s Fars news agency.
Ali Balali, an adviser to the commander of the IRGC’s aerospace force, said Iran has enough missiles to carry out a full and sustained operation, at a time when the rhetoric of the seven-month war between Iran and the United States is hardening again.
The statement comes after Washington and Tel Aviv have carried out attacks on Iranian targets since the start of the war at the end of February, while Tehran has responded with missile and drone attacks on U.S. bases in the region and ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
Iranian officials have repeated in recent days that they will not back down from their conditions for ending the conflict, while diplomatic efforts through mediators in Qatar continue without a final agreement.
