Israeli forces wound a Lebanese soldier and three civilians in southern Lebanon
Israeli forces have wounded a Lebanese soldier and three civilians in southern Lebanon, as they enforce their occupation zone in that region, as EA WorldView reports in Thursday’s live updates. The Lebanese Army was escorting civilians who were going to remove belongings from their homes when they were attacked as they entered the town.
The incident is the latest in a series of daily Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon. On September 28, Israel used Apache attack helicopters for the first time in its strikes in this area, hitting a shopping center on the main road between the towns of Shoukin and Mayfadoun, as well as the outskirts of the towns of Haddatha and Haris.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun discussed on Thursday the ongoing Israeli attacks in the south of the country at a meeting with Defense Minister Michel Menassa, where the army’s needs and the overall security situation were also discussed, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency. Aoun stressed the need to preserve security achievements “despite the surrounding circumstances.”
