Israeli settlers set fire to a vehicle in Hebron and try to kidnap a child

Israeli settlers set fire to a vehicle, attacked residents and tried to kidnap a child north of Hebron in the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported on Sunday.

According to the testimony of a Palestinian, a group of settlers approached his vehicle, set it on fire and then tried to attack him. Media activist Mohammed Awad said the settlers forced their way into two homes, attacked women and children and tried to kidnap a child, before residents stopped them.

The incident is part of a growing wave of settler violence in the West Bank, on the same day that Israeli forces raided several villages west of Jenin and clashes were reported in Sur Baher near occupied East Jerusalem.

So far there has been no comment from Israeli authorities on the Hebron incident. Tensions in the West Bank are escalating in parallel with the expanded regional war, while Israeli strikes continue in Gaza, Lebanon and Syria.
