Ivan Vuković (DPS) denies links to the Student List leader: “I didn’t even know I worked for the ANB”
Ivan Vuković, vice president of Montenegro’s Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), denied on Tuesday any link to the leader of Serbia’s Student List, Ilija Srdanović, or to his alleged recruitment by the Montenegrin secret service, as Nova.rs reports.
Commenting on a video by the Novi Sad organization “Centar za društvenu stabilnost,” which claims that Srdanović was engaged by Montenegro’s National Security Agency (ANB) and that Vuković was the contact person, he wrote on X that he had not heard of the Student List leader in Serbia until his name appeared in the media recently — and that he did not even know he “worked for the ANB.”
“The organization that became famous with the documentary in which our grandmothers are portrayed as Italian prostitutes is shining again. In its new production, I am presented as the key man in the ANB’s link to the leader of the Student List for the elections in Serbia. Allegedly we met in Novi Sad and so on,” Vuković wrote, adding ironically that he had last been in Novi Sad in 2006, at a Sting concert.
“Jokes aside, wretched is the politician defended by such ghosts,” Vuković concluded, according to the Montenegrin portal Vijesti, as cited by Nova.rs.
Srdanović, a physician from Novi Sad, is the leader of the “Students Win” list for the October 25 early parliamentary elections in Serbia, confirmed by the Republican Election Commission as number 3 on the ballot.
