James Jordan joins the cast of “They Follow”: the “Landman” actor in the sequel to David Robert Mitchell’s legendary horror
American actor James Jordan, known as oil engineer Dale Bradley in Paramount+’s series “Landman,” has been cast in a role in “They Follow,” the long-awaited sequel to David Robert Mitchell’s horror film “It Follows” (2015), as Deadline exclusively reports (the news was reported on September 29, 2026). Representatives of Neon — the studio behind the film — declined to comment on the casting.
Details of the character Jordan will play remain secret, as does the sequel’s full plot; from what is known so far, the story is set a decade after the original. Maika Monroe returns in the role of Jay Height, while the cast is rounded out by Naomi Ackie, Jackie Earle Haley, Justine Lupe, Anna Mirodin, Jayne Taini, Michael Gandolfini, Tom Pecinka, Melora Walters, Ben Krieger, Natalie Shinnick and Jan Hoag.
Mitchell returns to write and direct the sequel and is also a producer, together with Jake Weiner, Chris Bender, Erik Rommesmo, Mike D’Alto, Randal Sandler, Scott Aharoni, Sinan Eczacıbaşı, David Kaplan, Rebecca Green and Laura Smith.
The original “It Follows” told the story of student Jay, who, after confronting a supernatural entity, begins to be followed by it everywhere in the form of different people. The film was widely praised by critics and grossed around $23 million worldwide on a budget of just over $1 million — one of the cult horror films of the past decade.
Jordan is also known for his roles in “Wind River,” “Yellowstone” and “Special Ops: Lioness.” Meanwhile “Landman” is preparing for its third season on Paramount+.
