Jesus explains decision on Ronaldo: “I didn’t bring him on because the moment wasn’t right”

While Portugal’s players celebrated their second win in their second Nations League match, one of them stayed in the dressing room.

Unlike his teammates, Cristiano Ronaldo never made it to the fans who had traveled to Norway. He didn’t even come onto the pitch after the final whistle to congratulate his teammates.

On the matter, Jorge Jesus explained that the decision not to activate Ronaldo was not taken in agreement with the player: “I had thought about bringing him on, maybe for half an hour, but the flow of the game dictated otherwise. I thought the time was inappropriate. It had nothing to do with his physical rest, as he was fully capable of playing for as long as I would have wanted.”
