Josh Finan, Reece Shearsmith and Hugh Skinner join “An Oak Tree” at London’s The Other Palace
Three well-known names of the British stage and screen — Josh Finan, Reece Shearsmith and Hugh Skinner — have joined the line-up of “An Oak Tree”, Tim Crouch’s theatre experiment which runs at The Other Palace in London from October 7 to November 15, as BroadwayWorld announces.
According to the announcement by the producers Francesca Moody Productions, which London Theatre also carries, Josh Finan will perform on October 17 (matinee), Reece Shearsmith on November 6 and Hugh Skinner on November 4. The trio joins an already starry list of previously announced guests, including Suranne Jones, Juliet Stevenson, Olivia Williams, Gemma Whelan, Sacha Dhawan, Bessie Carter and Rosalie Craig.
Finan is known for roles in the BBC series “Say Nothing” and “The Responder”; Shearsmith is the co-creator and star of “Inside No. 9” and “The League of Gentlemen”; while Skinner has acted in the sitcom “W1A” and in the film “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again”. Each of them will take the stage alongside Crouch for a single evening, without ever having read or rehearsed the text beforehand — the iron rule of this production.
Since its world premiere in 2005, “An Oak Tree” has become one of the most influential works of contemporary theatre: over 350 performers have played it in more than 19 countries, making every evening an unrepeatable event. The press night at The Other Palace is set for October 7, and the production is part of Francesca Moody Productions’ new season at this theatre, where every show offers 20 tickets at the price of £20.
