Yemen’s army says it carried out 71 strikes on Houthi targets in Taiz province

Yemen’s army announced that it had carried out 71 strikes on Houthi targets in Taiz province, describing the operations as precision strikes against the group’s gatherings, reinforcements and military positions, as Al Jazeera reports in its live coverage of the war.

The military spokesman said the strikes were concentrated in several areas of the province, including al-Aqrud, Samea, al-Ahkum, al-Akboush, the mountains Jabal Rasin and Jabal Jardad, as well as Bani Omar, Bani Bakari, al-Kaawish and al-Athawir.

According to the army, the strikes destroyed a number of Houthi transport and support vehicles, caused losses among the group’s fighters and disrupted its ability to continue fighting.

The army said its operations in Taiz will continue, at a time when fighting between government forces and the Houthis has escalated on several fronts in Yemen, according to Al Jazeera.
