Trump at the Mobile rally: the war with Iran could end “very soon, maybe right after the elections”
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the war with Iran could end “very soon, maybe right after the elections”, at a rally held in Mobile, Alabama, as Al Jazeera reports in its live broadcast.
“I don’t know who to talk to. There’s nobody to talk to. Nobody wants to be president. I say to myself, who do I talk to in Iran? … Knock, knock, nobody’s there,” Trump said, questioning who could negotiate on Tehran’s behalf. He insisted: “Iran will never have a nuclear weapon… It cannot have a nuclear weapon.”

The president described Iran’s condition in harsh tones: “They have no navy, they have no air force, they have no radar, they have no air defence,” adding that the country’s economy is “in collapse” and that inflation has reached about 310 percent. “This should have been done by other presidents years ago… We always have to do the dirty work,” he said.
Speaking about the naval blockade, Trump said: “And the blockade? We call it a steel wall.” He promised that as soon as the war ends, oil prices “will fall rapidly”, and announced that the U.S. will soon start refilling the Strategic Petroleum Reserve: “We will fill our strategic reserve very soon, for nothing,” without giving further details, according to Al Jazeera.
