Kim back in Milan’s orbit, with Premier League clubs also in the race
The South Korean defender previously played in Serie A with Napoli. He has yet to renew with Bayern and looks like a realistic target for next summer.
Kim, the Bayern Munich defender with a Napoli past, is back in Milan’s orbit. Previously linked with the Rossoneri during coach Allegri’s time, the Korean is seen as a possible signing. The Italian club has long been searching for an experienced center-back. Milan’s interest in Kim was reported by Bild, in an article about the 29-year-old’s future — his contract with the Bavarians expires in 2028.
It is still unclear whether the German champions will bet on him for the future. The defender prioritizes staying at Bayern, which in the summer of 2023 spent €50 million to sign him from Napoli.
Several clubs are in fact following Kim’s situation. The Korean is unlikely to leave the Bundesliga in January, so plans are being made for the summer transfer window. Besides Milan, two English clubs are, as always, in the race for the player.
Tottenham and Aston Villa want to bring him to the Premier League, but Milan can play the card that the defender knows the Italian league. The Rossoneri must decide whether to make a significant investment in defense in January. Among the names circulating is Sporting Lisbon’s Gonçalo Inacio.
