Kosovo-Austria, Foda and Muriqi: We are ready

Kosovo will take to the field at “Fadil Vokrri” for their fourth Nations League match (League B, Group 3), on Sunday from 18:00, with Austria as the opponents. Ahead of the clash, coach Franco Foda and captain Vedat Muriqi set out their objectives at a press conference.

“We have had some problems against Austria in defence. We showed against Israel that we have improved. We have analysed it and prepared well. An intense match awaits us. We must be careful in transition, in switching from attack to defence and vice versa,” coach Foda said.

“We know we are at home and we have the crowd. That gives us a different energy.”

“After every match we do analysis and make decisions. In Israel we stabilised in defence. Some players have had injuries. Against Israel we made changes, and now, against Austria, we need to have energy and passion.”

Meanwhile, striker Vedat Muriqi confirmed that he will be ready for the match against Austria.

“I had a concern after the match with Austria. As you know, I was injured at the club and I have had a heavy load. Tomorrow I will be ready.”

“Officially this is my first camp as first captain, but it is nothing new for me, as I have been vice-captain and have tried to be a good deputy to our previous captain. I am not a stranger to this post and this role; I feel no pressure.”
