Hamza after meeting Kurti: Pass the law on the Specialist Chambers first, then we are ready to vote for the President
The meeting between Prime Minister Albin Kurti and the leader of the PDK, Bedri Hamza, has ended.
After the meeting, Hamza spoke to the media, repeating the PDK’s request for the adoption of the draft law proposed by this party.
“I keep saying it: the PDK’s request is the approval of the law in two readings, the final approval of the law. Then the Democratic Party of Kosovo is ready, on the same day, at the next session, to talk, to find the solution for the President and to give the votes for the President,” Hamza said.
He said the talks with Kurti have ended, but stressed that there are still a few days available to reach an agreement.
“We have finished the talks. Yes, there are still a few days where you have the chance to reach an agreement. I do not know whether the agreement will happen,” Hamza stated.
The PDK leader said his party’s position remains unchanged, emphasising that the issue of adopting the law is not connected only to the PDK’s needs.
“Otherwise, this is our request and it is not about the need for the PDK. The law goes beyond the needs of the PDK and concerns another matter,” Hamza said.
The meetings between the political leaders are taking place as part of efforts to find a solution for the election of the President of Kosovo, while the constitutional deadline for electing the head of state ends on October 6, as Telegrafi reports.
