“Krapi” association: deaths of three fish in Lake Badovci are normal — they may be over 50 years old

The “Krapi” Recreational Sport Fishing Association of Pristina has reacted to the deaths of three fish on September 19 in Lake Badovci, saying the phenomenon should not be considered alarming.

In a clarification, the association said that, based on its assessments and monitoring of the situation, the deaths of this type of fish may be a natural process.

According to the “Krapi” association, the fish may be over 50 years old, based on the fact that they were released into Lake Badovci during the 1970s.

“The death of this type of fish is natural, given that these fish may be over 50 years old,” the clarification said.

The association stressed that the conditions of Lake Badovci have not been suitable for the further development of this type of fish, which, according to it, has continued to live in the lake without further development.

“Since that time they have had no further development, as the place was not suited to this type, but they simply continued to live as such in the lake,” the reaction said.

“Krapi” said the situation was monitored during the day and night, and noted that after September 19 no further fish deaths had been observed.

“Since that day there has been no more dead fish of any kind,” the association stated. /Telegrafi/
