Over 374,000 children received child benefits in August as Kosovo disbursed €13.5 million, ASK reports

Kosovo’s child-benefit scheme recorded its highest number of beneficiaries in August 2026, with 374,382 children receiving allowances and more than €13.5 million disbursed, according to data published by the Kosovo Agency of Statistics (ASK).

It was followed by the basic old-age pension scheme, with 171,045 beneficiaries and over €27.1 million paid, and the contributory old-age pension, with 47,841 beneficiaries and more than €11.7 million.

The veterans’ scheme counted 39,646 beneficiaries with over €7.8 million disbursed, while disability pensions reached 21,655 people with more than €3.6 million. Social assistance was granted to 14,789 beneficiaries, totaling over €2.1 million.

Pensions for families of martyrs and war invalids had 12,360 beneficiaries with over €3.7 million, financial support for unemployed mothers reached 6,596 beneficiaries with more than €3.3 million, while 2,219 employed mothers received over €1.1 million.

In total, all schemes counted 733,006 beneficiaries with payments exceeding €82 million. ASK notes that the welfare schemes mainly support the elderly, categories emerging from the war and families in need.
