300 Personal Items of Brigitte Bardot Go Up for Auction

PARIS, September 21 /ATSH–ANSA/ — Around 300 personal items of French actress and icon Brigitte Bardot have been put up for auction at the Drouot auction house in central Paris.

The items come from Bardot’s two residences in Saint-Tropez and her apartment in Paris.

Some of the rooms in her homes have been recreated in the exhibition space.

Proceeds from the sale will be donated to her animal protection charity.

Among the auction items are furniture, clothing, religious statues, kitchenware, Le Creuset pots, lighters, jewelry and classical guitars.

Also up for sale are Bardot’s Peugeot bicycle and two pairs of Repetto leather ballet flats.

One of the most special items is the typewriter Bardot used for her correspondence and for writing her autobiography.

Her Guerlain perfume will also go under the hammer.

The collection also includes a large number of portraits of the actress, some of them erotic in character.

According to her longtime secretary, Frank Guillou, these portraits were mostly gifts from artists Bardot knew or works that held special meaning for her.

Most lots have a starting price below €100, but bidding is expected to drive their value up significantly during the auction.
