Kurti Seeks Denmark’s Support for Kosovo’s EU Candidate Status
Prime Minister Albin Kurti has sought Denmark’s support for advancing the status of Kosovo’s application for membership in the European Union, during a farewell meeting with non-resident Danish ambassador Christian Grønbech-Jensen.
Kurti announced that he discussed with the Danish ambassador the relations between the two countries and their further strengthening.
“Expressing gratitude to Denmark, I requested support to advance the status of Kosovo’s application to candidate state for membership in the European Union,” Kurti wrote.
He emphasized that Kosovo is committed also to the strategic goal of becoming part of NATO.
“Our republic, besides being clearly and unwaveringly determined, is committed to the strategic goal of becoming part of NATO,” he wrote.
Kurti said he thanked Ambassador Grønbech-Jensen for his service and contribution, while the ambassador congratulated the Government on its new mandate.
He also congratulated the ambassador on the agreement with the United States of America and Greenland, on strengthening defense and security in the Arctic and the North Atlantic.
“Alongside justice, energy, education and technology, we discussed concrete ways and opportunities to deepen economic and trade cooperation, as well as to increase Danish investments in our country,” Kurti wrote.
