Kurti Suspends Hysen Muzliukaj, Director of the Kosovo Institute for Public Administration
Prime Minister Albin Kurti has suspended the Director General of the Kosovo Institute for Public Administration, Hysen Muzliukaj, following the filing of an indictment against him for committing a criminal offense while exercising official functions, as KosovaPress reports.
The decision, published in the Official Gazette (no. 26/022, dated 25.09.2026), provides that the suspension will last until the full completion of the criminal procedure, while during this period Muzliukaj will receive 50 percent of his full salary. He had held the position since his appointment on August 1, 2025.
Muzliukaj is known as a former political adviser to former Agriculture Minister Faton Peci and a former municipal director in Mitrovica during Agim Bahtiri’s term.
In July 2023 he was arrested by the Special Prosecution, together with former Mitrovica deputy mayor Faruk Mujka, and was released a day later to defend himself in liberty.
According to the indictment, Muzliukaj, in his capacity as former director for Geodesy, Cadastre and Property in the Municipality of Mitrovica, is accused of abuse of official duty in connection with the case of the exchange of the former Bankos property with private property.
