Kurti: Three victims from the mass graves in Zubin Potok identified by DNA — part of the ‘Group of Intellectuals’
Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti announced on Saturday that DNA analysis has confirmed the identity of three victims whose remains were exhumed from mass graves in various locations in northern Kosovo.
According to the DNA reports, all three victims belong to the group known as the “Group of Intellectuals” – mostly citizens from Skenderaj and Mitrovica, who were abducted and forcibly disappeared by Serbian forces on April 19, 1999.
Kurti made the announcement on the social network Facebook, but he has not made public the names of the identified victims.
The identification of the exhumed mortal remains is part of the long and painful process of clarifying the fate of persons missing during the last war in Kosovo, where many families still await answers about their loved ones.
