Lukaku taunts the Italians, Donnarumma loses his nerve after the defeat! The pitch turns into a ring after the match!
Italy’s first match since Roberto Mancini’s return as coach was anything but happy.
In Rome, the “Azzurri” lost 0-2 at home to Belgium, and it ended with tension and heated words.
Right after the final whistle, the referee had to separate Gianluigi Donnarumma and Romelu Lukaku, who had clashed fiercely. The two approached each other in a threatening manner after exchanging a few heated words.
The provocation
The Belgian striker provoked by making the 0-2 gesture with his hands to emphasize his team’s win over Italy, and putting his finger to his mouth to silence the Italians.
At that moment, the Manchester City goalkeeper (note: as in the original text), enraged, walked all the way to the center circle to confront his opponent in harsh tones.
The match referee was forced to show a yellow card to both Donnarumma and Lukaku to restore order.
In the ensuing chaos, with many players from both teams joining the scuffle, Maldini was also booked with a yellow card, after having held back an opponent and approached the former Napoli and Inter striker.
