Mazonakis death probe: investigator seeks phone records of two accused doctors
The investigator handling the death of Greek singer Giorgos Mazonakis has requested the phone data of the two accused doctors, a married couple charged with possible intentional homicide.

If the request is approved, the phone calls and messages exchanged between the accused and third parties will become part of the investigation file. The relevant order is expected to be issued early next week, giving new impetus to the investigation into the 54-year-old’s death.
Meanwhile, the two doctors are not expected to appeal the detention decision — the appeal deadline expires on Friday. Their lawyers, according to Greek media, have chosen to wait for the progress of the investigation and the gathering of new evidence before — at the end of October — possibly seeking house arrest with electronic monitoring for the male doctor.
Mazonakis died on September 9 after suffering cardiac arrest during a plasmapheresis procedure at the clinic run by the accused. The clinic advertised longevity and “anti-aging” services but was not licensed for that procedure, which according to Greek authorities may only be performed in fully equipped hospitals. Both doctors deny guilt.
