Mickoski on the “Makedonium” scandal: I will seek the dismissal of the director and the governing board
The Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Hristijan Mickoski, has reacted to the events at the “Makedonium” memorial complex in Krushevo, answering journalists’ questions. As the Macedonian portal Centar.mk reports, Mickoski declared that he has followed the public reactions and that what happened in that memorial space should not have happened.
Mickoski announced that he will ask the Minister of Culture and Tourism to dismiss the director of this cultural institution, together with the governing board. He justified the request with the position that such institutions should not be rented out and used for such purposes, the Centar.mk report says.
The Prime Minister apologised to citizens for the lapse, stressing that the authorities will try to ensure that something like this does not happen again. According to the Macedonian portal, Mickoski said he would still today seek the dismissal of the director and the members of the board.
