Minchev: From 2027 Rewards for Successful Civil Servants, Sanctions for Those Who Fail Their Duties

In an interview on the “Noćno studio” show of 4TV television, the Minister of Public Administration, Goran Minchev, announced a new system that will radically change the way public administration functions. According to him, from 2027 administrative employees will be rewarded for achieved results, but will also face sanctions if they do not fulfill their work duties.

Minister Minchev told the 4TV show that the ministry is ready to start implementing the new law from October 1, although a grace period until the end of 2026 had been foreseen for the implementation of the new legal solution for the senior civil service. As 4NEWS reports, all necessary laws, decrees and regulations are already prepared.

However, as the minister emphasized in the interview, for the full functioning of the new law, 60 other laws will also need to be harmonized, a process expected to continue in the coming months.

In the same show, Minchev announced that by the end of the year competitions will be announced for 20 senior management functions, paving the way for a new leadership cadre in public administration.
