Minister Nufi hosts the U.S. ambassador: with the United States, Albania stands side by side for freedom, security and peace

Defence Minister Ermal Nufi has hosted the new U.S. Ambassador to Tirana, Eric Wendt. In a post on the social network Facebook, Nufi says the United States is an irreplaceable partner of Albania in defence and security. He stressed that our country brings to this partnership an important geographical position, reliability and a clear will to cooperate.

“Ambassador Wendt, welcome to Albania. The U.S. is an irreplaceable partner of Albania in defence and security, while our country brings to this partnership an important geographical position, reliability and a clear will to cooperate,” Minister Nufi writes.

In his post, Nufi also adds that Corridor VIII, Porto Romano, the Kuçovë Air Base and our Host Nation Support capacities strengthen the Alliance’s architecture and mobility in Southeast Europe.

Nufi also underlines that Albania is now an active contributor to peace and security: “From the support for Ukraine and the presence in KFOR, to many multinational initiatives, or the decision to participate in the International Stabilization Force in Gaza — Albania proves that it is now a trusted ally, capable of contributing to security and peace. With the United States, Albania stands side by side — for freedom, security and peace,” he adds.
