Missing Since August 30, Albanian Student in Italy Found Dead
Since August 30, the family had been unable to contact 25-year-old Ferdinand Nokaj, of Albanian origin, who lived with his family in the Pesaro area and had gone to Rovereto to study.
On the day of his disappearance, the young man had told his parents that he had been attacked by several young men, also of Albanian origin. However, according to the information reported, no report of such an attack appears to have been filed with the police.
On September 5, a dead body was found in the Adige River, near San Michele. At that moment, the case was not linked to the 25-year-old’s disappearance. The identification was made only last Friday, about 20 days later, by his father.
Ferdinand Nokaj’s mobile phone was last located in Termeno.
It is still not clear how the young man travelled the roughly 65 kilometres from Termeno towards Rovereto and what happened during the last hours before his death.
The Trento Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation file for incitement to suicide, while investigations continue to clarify the full circumstances of the 25-year-old’s death.
