Netanyahu: Israel Will Topple the Iranian Regime and Eliminate Hamas and Hezbollah

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared on Thursday that Israel will eliminate Hamas, defeat and topple the Iranian regime, and eliminate Hezbollah, in a speech delivered in Jerusalem.

Netanyahu spoke at a ceremony for distinguished Shin Bet personnel for 2025 at the President’s Residence, where he said the “desire for Israel to live in peace within secure borders remains unchanged”.

“In the Gaza Strip we are seeing a phenomenon that I think surprises everyone,” he said, referring to Hamas. “When we tell the terrorists: ‘No one is immune, we will reach all of you,’ you are actually implementing what you said you would do.”

According to Netanyahu, the desire of Iran and its allies to destroy the State of Israel “has not disappeared from the world”, adding: “We will eliminate Hamas, and above all we will defeat the regime in Iran. We will topple it, and we will eliminate Hezbollah.”

The statements come as the US–Iran war enters its seventh month, and a day after U.S. President Donald Trump said the war is “perhaps nearing its end” — claims Iranian diplomats dismissed.
