New U.S. ambassador Eric Wendt begins his mission in Albania, meets Prime Minister Rama
The new ambassador of the United States of America to Albania, Eric Wendt, officially began his diplomatic mission in Tirana a few days ago.
As part of his first meetings after taking office, Wendt met with Prime Minister Edi Rama. The news was announced by Prime Minister Rama himself through a post on social media, where he also published photographs from the meeting with the new U.S. ambassador.
“Welcome. The welcome meeting of the new U.S. ambassador in Tirana, Eric Wendt,” Rama writes in his post.
Wendt presented his credentials to President Bajram Begaj on September 26, officially beginning his mission as ambassador of the United States. He succeeds in this post Yuri Kim, who left the post in June 2023. Since her departure, the U.S. diplomatic mission in Tirana was led by Nancy VanHorn, in the capacity of chargé d’affaires.
