Nikollovski: We Will Fight Fiercely Against Crime in Customs, Every Suspect Will Be Sanctioned
The Customs Directorate will flawlessly and fiercely fight crime within its ranks, and we have shown this over these 26 months, stressed the director of the Customs Directorate, Boban Nikollovski, answering journalists’ questions about the suspected deputy director of that institution who was recently arrested for taking bribes.
Nikollovski warned of a fierce fight and sanctioning of all employees suspected of criminal acts.
“On April 14, on Customs Day, in my speech, I sent a message to all employees at the Customs Directorate that we will flawlessly and fiercely fight crime within our ranks, and we have shown this over these 26 months — from customs officers at the lowest levels, and now at one of the highest levels in Customs. Anyone who works and is suspected of committing criminal acts will be severely sanctioned, and in this sense here is the evidence. We as the Customs Directorate will undertake everything that is necessary and within our competence; however, this procedure is led by the competent Prosecution, the police carried out the arrest, and we will await communication and take measures,” Nikollovski stressed.
The Customs Directorate today at the Tabanovce border crossing promoted the completion of projects implemented under the action document “EU against organized crime, with support for trade”.
