“Not in my name”, protest today in Berlin and Pristina
A protest under the motto “Not in my name” will be held today, October 4, in Berlin, in opposition to the Specialist Court’s guilty verdict against the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA).
According to the organizers’ announcement, the protest will start at 12:00, in front of the German Parliament building, the Reichstagsgebäude, at Platz der Republik 1.
A similar protest organized by the Albanian diaspora was held yesterday in Munich, Germany.
Meanwhile, the 19th protest under the same motto continues today in Pristina. It will be held at “Skënderbeu” Square, starting at 19:00.
In addition to opposing the Specialist Court verdict, the protesters in Pristina are also demanding the adoption by the Assembly of Kosovo of the Draft Law on amending and supplementing the Law on the Kosovo Specialist Chambers.
On September 16, the Specialist Chambers in The Hague sentenced in the first instance former president Hashim Thaçi, former Assembly speaker Kadri Veseli, former deputy prime minister Jakup Krasniqi and former MP Rexhep Selimi to a total of 81 years in prison.
