Pakistan condemns the Houthi attack on the power station in Medina; Riyadh meeting next week on the attacks on Saudi Arabia
Pakistan strongly condemned the attack attributed to Yemen’s Houthis on an electricity distribution station in Medina, Saudi Arabia, describing it as a “grave provocation” and a threat to regional peace and security, as the Anadolu agency reports in Al Jazeera’s live updates on the U.S.–Iran war.
In the statement published on X by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad “calls for an immediate and unconditional end to such reckless actions.”

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s foreign minister announced that a meeting in Riyadh next week will focus on the Houthi attacks in Saudi Arabia, according to a Reuters alert. In a second alert, Reuters said the meeting of the Political Strategic Defence Committee under the Mecca Pact will be held soon in Riyadh.
The Houthis denied that they attacked the plant that supplies electricity to the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina. A Houthi military source, quoted by their Saba news agency, called the claim a “lie” intended to cover up, in his words, Saudi Arabia’s failure to prove the earlier allegation that the Houthis had targeted the holy city of Mecca. Riyadh claims the attack in Medina was part of the Houthis’ repeated efforts to target the two holy mosques.
