Partizan beat Paris 92-79 in the EuroLeague — the Belgrade side make it two wins from two
Partizan’s basketball players have started the new EuroLeague season with a perfect record. In the second round, as Danas reports, the Belgrade “black-and-whites” beat Paris away 92-79 (quarters 15:18, 29:22, 23:23, 25:16) at the Adidas Arena in Paris. After two rounds, Partizan have a perfect record of two wins.
The hosts started the game better: after four minutes Partizan had not yet scored a basket, while Paris had racked up 10 points. Carlik Jones broke the visitors’ bad run, and by the end of the first quarter Paris led 18:15. At the end of the first half, Arijan Lakić hit a long-range three-pointer at the buzzer, sending Partizan into the break with a four-point lead (44:40).
In the third quarter, Frank Ntilikina — a former Partizan player — hit three three-pointers in a row and Paris closed to 50:49, but Partizan kept the lead and won the ends of the quarters. In the fourth quarter, a 6-0 run gave Partizan a double-digit advantage, while Luka Vildoza, with his steals, helped seal the win for coach Joan Peñarroya’s team.
In the third round Partizan play away again, against Bayern on Friday, while Paris host Žalgiris a day earlier. The evening’s context is especially sweet for the “black-and-whites”: tonight in Belgrade, Crvena Zvezda lost 81:80 to Hapoel — so Partizan remain the only Serbian team with a perfect record after two EuroLeague rounds.
