Patoulis after Georgiadis referral: “I asked for the audit myself — let the cannibalism end”

Athens Medical Association (ISA) president Giorgos Patoulis reacted on Tuesday with a public statement after Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis decided to refer the investigation of his business activity to the National Transparency Authority, as ProtoThema reports.

Patoulis claims it was he himself who asked Georgiadis for a full and in-depth audit by the competent authorities. The goal, according to his statement, is “to give final answers and put an end to cannibalism, the spread of fake news, and my targeting.”

“The referral of the claims against me to the National Transparency Authority constitutes the correct institutional path, which I fully embrace,” the statement reads. As ISA president, Patoulis expresses his full confidence in the institutions and declares he will assist them in every way “so that the truth shines.”
