PDK and AAK abandon parliamentary committee meetings until the bill on the Specialist Chambers is brought forward
MPs from the Democratic Party of Kosovo and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo have abandoned parliamentary committee meetings, as Klan Kosova reports, in protest at the failure to process the bill amending the Law on the Specialist Chambers.
They have warned they will not return to these meetings until the PDK bill on the Specialist Chambers is brought to the Assembly, and have demanded that protesters’ requests also be heard in the Assembly. The initiative, according to them, has still not received a response from the Government.
PDK MP Blerta Deliu-Kodra said, according to RTV Malisheva, that PDK does not want to obstruct the functioning of institutions, but will not take part in committee meetings without this bill being processed, demanding it be treated urgently as a priority issue.
Deliu-Kodra criticized the Government for delays in processing the bill, emphasizing that meanwhile other bills are being processed in the Assembly under an accelerated procedure. PDK submitted the bill to the Assembly on September 21, while the Government received it for an opinion on September 25.
