“Prahaar” goes to the scene: trailer of the 26/11 prosecutor drama launches September 29 at Mumbai’s CSMT station

Maddock Films is preparing a unique trailer launch for its courtroom drama “Prahaar: The Untold Story Of Ujjwal Nikam”: on the evening of September 29, at Mumbai’s iconic Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) station. Expected at the event are Rajkummar Rao, Wamiqa Gabbi, producer Dinesh Vijan, prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam himself and director Avinash Arun.

The choice of venue is deeply tied to the film’s subject. “Prahaar” brings back into focus some of the defining legal battles of renowned public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam, with the main focus on the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai and the prosecution of Ajmal Kasab. CSMT itself was one of the targets attacked on the night of November 26, 2008, and Nikam served as special public prosecutor in the special trial that followed.

According to reports, CSMT is believed to host the first full film promotional event ever in its history. Previous celebrity visits to the station include Kangana Ranaut in 2019, who promoted “Panga” by sitting at the ticket counter and issuing local tickets to travelers, as well as Anupam Kher in 2018, as part of the “Ek Safar Rail Ke Saath” passenger safety campaign.

The launch will be held in a less crowded section of the terminal, yet during the evening rush hours — it remains to be seen how organizers and railway authorities will manage the crowd without disrupting regular passenger movement, Bollywood Hungama reports.
