Prof. Skerdi Prifti Passes Away: Renowned Doctor and Lecturer of Gastrohepatology

Prof. Skerdi Prifti, a well-known doctor, lecturer, and researcher in the field of gastrohepatology, has passed away unexpectedly.

The news was announced by the Faculty of Medicine in Tirana, which, through a social media post, expressed condolences to Prof. Prifti’s family, praising his contribution to medicine, pedagogy, and scientific research.

Prof. Prifti had a long professional career, with a particular commitment to gastrohepatology, as well as to the development of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.

During his career, he headed the Endoscopy Unit at the Gastrohepatology Service of QSUT. He also served as head of the Department of Internal Diseases at the Faculty of Medicine.

His passing is a loss for the medical and academic community, while his colleagues and students have over the years appreciated his contribution to training new professionals and to the development of medicine.
