Rama honors the Bytyqi brothers: “Kosovo is forever indebted to its fighters”
Pristina mayor Përparim Rama has paid homage at the graves of the Bytyqi brothers, remembering them for their contribution and sacrifice for Kosovo’s freedom.
In a Facebook post, Rama said Kosovo is forever indebted to its fighters across the Atlantic and to the Albanian-American diaspora, who he said joined the effort to liberate Kosovo.
“An entire diaspora became part of Kosovo’s effort for freedom,” Rama wrote.
He singled out brothers Agron, Mehmet and Ylli Bytyqi, describing them as three Albanian-American brothers who, at a decisive moment, chose to join the struggle for Kosovo’s freedom and sacrificed themselves for it.
Rama paid his respects together with the mayor of Lezha, Pjerin Ndreu, and the chairman of the Pan-Albanian Federation “Vatra”, Elmi Berisha.
“May your memory be eternal,” Rama wrote at the end of the post.
