Rama with parents of children with special needs: support teachers should get a bonus on top of their salary

Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting with a group of parents of children with special needs, discussing the creation of a National Council and strengthening the system of support teachers.

During the meeting, Rama said a training system must be built for support teachers, stressing the need to give them additional financial support as well.

“A training system must be built and we should look at the possibility of giving these teachers extra financial support. They should have a bonus on top of their salary,” Rama said.

The prime minister also proposed organizing an advisory council that would meet regularly and serve to address problems in a timely manner.

“We should organize an advisory council, to meet at regular frequencies, to have a micro-secretariat, someone who can refer problems in real time,” Rama said.
