Rented apartment turned into a drug base: Albanian-Brazilian couple arrested in Shkodër

A Brazilian citizen and a 40-year-old man have been arrested in Shkodër as part of the operation codenamed “Rent home 10”, on suspicion that a rented apartment in the “Ahmet Haxhia” neighborhood had been made available for criminal activities.

The 29-year-old Brazilian citizen was taken into custody; she is suspected of having rented the apartment and adapted it for the exercise of prostitution and the sale of narcotic substances.

During the intervention at the premises, officers also arrested the 40-year-old citizen, a resident of Shkodër, who is suspected of having benefited from these activities.

The police also seized quantities of the narcotic substances cocaine and Cannabis Sativa, as well as a sum of money in euros and lek.

The operation was finalized after several days of investigations by the specialists of the Narcotics Investigation Sector, with the aim of documenting the suspected criminal activity that was taking place in the apartment.

The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecution for further action.
