Risteski: No more queues at JSP counters — students get a digital card for free transport in Skopje
A digital student transport card for free use of public transport is being prepared for students in Skopje, as Makfax reports — preparations are in the final phase and the innovation is expected to enter use soon.
The news was announced by Ljupčo Risteski, president of the City Committee of the VMRO-DPMNE Youth Union (UMS). The solution, according to him, is implemented through cooperation between JSP, FINKI, UKIM and the “Mother Teresa” University, Makfax reports.
Student status will be confirmed automatically through data exchange between JSP and the universities — no paper certificates and no need to appear in person at a counter. “The time has come for institutions to do their part of the work and exchange the data they already possess,” Risteski declared.
The card will be available through the SkopjeBus app, while during travel the QR code on the mobile phone will be used. “Less time in front of counters will mean more time for lectures, exams and personal progress,” Risteski stressed.
Students will be informed in due time about the start of implementation and how to activate the digital card, Makfax reports.
