Ronaldo: I now follow tennis more than football, I admire Sinner

“I don’t think football is boring, but right now I’m following tennis a bit more than football; football is my life and I’ll follow it forever, but tennis holds a special place in my heart.”

These are the words of Ronaldo Nazario da Lima – known to everyone as “The Phenomenon” – who was in the stands in New York to watch the women’s US Open final (won by Elena Rybakina against Aryna Sabalenka) and spoke about his great passion for tennis.

Ronaldo is a great admirer of Sinner; speaking about the current state of Italian football compared to tennis, he told “Supertennis”:

“It’s a very difficult phase for Italian football – let’s hope things change quickly – while tennis is wonderful. There are many Italian players doing well, especially Jannik Sinner.

I have extraordinary sympathy and admiration for him and I hope to see one of his matches soon.” Finally, he gave a prediction for the men’s final taking place tonight: “I’d say Zverev, although Shelton is really playing well,” concluded Ronaldo.
