Russian Drone Hits Fuel Station and Warehouses in Kyiv; Poland Scrambles Military Aviation

The attack comes after U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Monday that Ukraine and Russia had agreed not to strike each other’s energy facilities. Russia has recently begun hitting fuel stations in Kyiv, expanding the range of targets it aims at. In recent months, Russia has struck around 300 fuel stations, mostly in regions near the front line.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Monday that Kyiv is ready to support the U.S. proposal for a Ukraine–Russia ceasefire on energy facilities, but only if Washington ensures that Moscow is truly ready to end the war.

Meanwhile, as Moscow attacked Ukraine, Poland announced it had launched military aviation operations as a preventive measure to secure its airspace, according to a statement by the Polish Armed Forces on the social network X. In Russia, which launched its invasion of Ukraine in 2022, a Ukrainian missile strike damaged a warehouse of the online trading company Ozon in the southern port city of Taganrog, the regional governor said on Telegram. Also, a drone attack hit an industrial facility in the Samara region on the Volga River, without the governor, Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, naming the facility; the region is home to several large oil refineries. Reuters could not immediately verify these reports.
